Coronary Surgery is often perceived as a discipline that has remained unchanged over decades—“the same for the past 50 years,” as is frequently remarked in conference corridors. Yet, nothing could be further from the truth. A closer look reveals a field evolving at an extraordinary pace—both exciting and, at times, overwhelming.
The Annual Conference of the Society of Coronary Surgeons offers a unique ring-side perspective to witness, engage with, and understand these rapid advancements. In an era of unrestricted information—where accuracy and misinformation coexist—the challenge lies not just in access, but in discernment. A moment’s disconnect can mean falling far behind.
This conference serves as a vital platform to separate evidence from opinion, distill meaningful insights from vast data, and engage in thoughtful dialogue. It is an opportunity to learn from shared experiences, question existing paradigms, and collectively address the growing burden of coronary artery disease.
It is my privilege to welcome you to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. We invite you to immerse yourself in a vibrant scientific environment, embrace the evolving landscape of our specialty, and take this opportunity to reflect, reinvent, and rejuvenate.
I assure you, it will be time exceptionally well spent.
Warm regards,
Dr. Sanjeeth Peter

Dear Colleagues,
It gives me immense pleasure to invite you to the Annual Conference of the Society for Coronary Surgeons, which will be held in Ahmedabad on 18-19 July 2026.
Coronary artery disease continues to remain one of the most significant health challenges in India. The burden of this disease in our country is immense, affecting individuals at a younger age and often with more aggressive progression compared to many other parts of the world. As cardiac surgeons practicing in India, we stand at the forefront of addressing this challenge.
India today is among the countries performing one of the highest numbers of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) procedures globally. This reflects not only the magnitude of the disease but also the depth of surgical expertise and dedication within our community. At the same time, the field of coronary surgery continues to evolve rapidly with innovations in surgical techniques, graft strategies, minimally invasive approaches, hybrid procedures, and peri-operative management.
In view of this dynamic landscape, it is imperative that we remain updated with the latest advances, share our experiences, and refine our skills to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients.
This year's conference has been thoughtfully structured with a strong emphasis on case-based discussions. Real-world clinical scenarios often present complexities that extend beyond textbook knowledge. By discussing challenging and instructive cases, we hope to foster meaningful dialogue, practical learning, and collaborative thinking among colleagues.
Ahmedabad, a vibrant city known for its warmth and hospitality, will serve as the perfect backdrop for this academic exchange and professional camaraderie.
On behalf of the organising committee, I warmly invite you to join us for this enriching scientific conclave. Your presence and participation will greatly contribute to the success of the meeting and to the continued advancement of coronary surgery in our country.
We look forward to welcoming you to Ahmedabad on 18-19 July 2026.
Warm regards,
Dr. Dhiren Shah
